A chick-flick for guys.
There isn’t a better way to describe this movie; while it isn’t the greatest movie, it isn’t the worst movie either. Another way to briefly describe the movie is…there’s three guys who are scared of commitment and love, and in the end they learn how to love..what a shocker.
That quick summary doesn’t really do the movie justice, but the story to begin with is already filled with clichés. Although the plot isn’t the most original, there are some good things about the film. If you enjoyed the American Pie type of comedy, you might enjoy That Awkward Moment (however, That Awkward Moment isn’t as crude as American Pie).
Maybe the reason why this film didn’t have such great ratings/reviews is because of the lack of chemistry between the cast. In the movie trailer they seem like they’re pretty decent together, but in the actual movie they lacked chemistry. The chemistry between a cast is really important in a comedy, each actor has to complement each other in order to create that “comedic bond” we usually see between great comedians.
It wasn’t the best movie, it wasn’t the worst movie. I’d recommend you have a watch if you have nothing else left on your movie list, or if you’re looking for a cheesy rom-com. But remember to take note that this is a rated-R movie, so the comedy may not be appropriate for everyone.
